Cycle Lead
Job Summary:
The Cycle Lead is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, performance management, and development of cycle instructors, as well as creating and enhancing the cycle program to meet the fitness needs of the community. The Cycle Lead plays a key role in ensuring a high standard of instruction, motivating the team, and delivering engaging cycling classes that foster member satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Identify, recruit, and hire qualified cycle instructors who align with the organization’s values and objectives.
- Conduct thorough interviews, assessments, and onboarding sessions for new cycle instructors to ensure they are fully prepared to deliver high-quality classes.
Cycle Instructor Performance Management:
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to cycle instructors to ensure continuous professional development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for instructors needing additional support or training.
- Ensure instructors are adhering to class schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Program Development & Planning:
- Work with the Group Fitness Coordinator to develop and evolve the cycle program to meet member interests and fitness goals.
- Curate a variety of cycle class formats (e.g., endurance, HIIT, recovery, etc.) to maintain excitement and engagement.
- Stay updated on cycling trends and best practices, integrating new techniques and innovations into the program.
- Ensure the program offers a diverse range of options for different fitness levels and abilities.
Class Scheduling & Coordination:
- Oversee the scheduling of cycle classes to ensure optimal instructor coverage, class diversity, and member participation.
- Adjust schedules and instructor assignments as needed to meet program demand and member needs.
Member Engagement & Feedback:
- Foster a positive, motivating, and inclusive environment within the cycle classes.
- Collect feedback from members regarding their experience and satisfaction with cycle classes.
- Analyze feedback to implement improvements and ensure classes meet member expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification in cycling instruction (e.g., Spinning, Schwinn, or other recognized certifications).
- Previous experience in group fitness instruction, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of instructors and participants.
- Knowledge of cycle class design, including the ability to create dynamic and engaging programming.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
